City of Portland's "Best Awards"

Businesses for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow: City of Portland Recognizes Sustainable Companies with 14 BEST Awards Portland, Ore.— Portland Powder Coating, Inc. was among local Portland companies and organizations that left the 13th Annual BEST Awards Breakfast with this year's top honors from the City's Office of Sustainable Development. The BEST Awards recognize businesses demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to sustainability. Mayor Potter joined Portland City Commissioners Dan Saltzman and Erik Sten at the breakfast held today at the Oregon Convention Center. “This year's BEST Award winners represent the true diversity of Portland's business community and its commitment to sustainability,” said Mayor Potter. “These companies are transforming both the marketplace and the culture of doing business in the city and region.”

Increased Capacity

November 2000 - Portland Powder Coating added one of the largest batch ovens in the northwest to its already impressive capabilities. "This oven was built by Grant Edgel and was designed to give
us increased flexibility and capacity" said Steve Williams, President of Portland Powder.

The ovens inside dimensions are 30' long by 10' wide by 9.5' tall, with batch doors on one end and conveyor notches at the other with future expansion in mind.

"The Wait Is Over"

February 1999 - Portland Powder Coating, Inc. of Portland, Oregon christened its new "state of the art" sandblast operation, today. "This system will integrate seamlessly with our powder coating operation", said Steve Williams, President of Portland Powder Coating, Inc.

The sandblast system consists of a 25' long, 300 square foot blast room, 60 horse power rotary screw compressor with refrigerated air dryer, 600 lb. self recovering blast pot, 8000 cfm dust collector, and an air conditioned oxygen feed apparatus for the operators.

June 1998 -- Portland Powder Coating, Inc. of Portland, Oregon, was recognized by the Oregon Business Journal as one of Oregon's fastest growing privately held companies. "The growth we have seen over our first five years has been phenomenal" President Steve Williams said at the awards banquet."It's a tribute to my people, and the growing popularity of powder coatings."
